LCSC to hold women’s leadership conference on March 9

LEWISTON, Idaho ­– Registration is now open for the Lewis-Clark State College Continuing Education’s Women’s Leadership Conference, which will be held March 9 at 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the LCSC Center for Arts & History, located at 415 Main St. in Lewiston.

Officially named the Women’s Leadership Conference 2018: Past, Present and Future, the event is open to all women high school age and older. It has a registration fee of $30 per person, which includes lunch and refreshments. The conference is also part of the LCSC Women’s History Month celebration.

The conference honors women throughout history who have set the course for women today, recognizes and celebrates women in leadership in today's world, and charts a future path as women leaders to make history.

Workshop sessions at the conference will include “Managing Self” on how to be a successful leader, “Exploring Self” that looks at facing the imposter syndrome, and “Growing Self,” which focuses on women in service.

The keynote speaker will be former United States Department of Justice attorney Betty Richardson, who will discuss during lunch “Women in Leadership – Where are we now?” Richardson is a graduate of Lewiston High School and the University of Idaho. She was the first woman to serve as commissioner and chairwoman of the Idaho Industrial Commission, and the first woman from Idaho appointed to serve as an attorney for the Justice Department.

LCSC’s Office of the Provost, Community Programs, Continuing Education & Community Events, Humanities Division, Academic Programs, Business Technology & Service Division, Social Sciences Division Business Division, and the Center for Arts & History are sponsors for the event in partnership with Inland 360, YWCA, and Colleen Mahoney.
