LCSC receives honor for having top paralegal program in Idaho

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College has been honored for having the top paralegal bachelor and certificate programs among colleges in Idaho by the website Paralegal.edu.

According to Sean Reed, Senior Editor for Paralegal.edu, LCSC was honored after officials examined more than 250 paralegal programs available at accredited schools. Reed wrote in an email that LCSC “deserved to be recognized among the best of the best, so we’ve named you as our number one recommendation for students in your state.”

LCSC’s Bachelor of Applied Science Paralegal Studies was honored as the top paralegal program because if offers exceptional value as the lowest cost program of its kind in Idaho and because its provides field experience in form of an internship, Paralegal.edu said in its evaluation.

“Lewis-Clark State College offers a big league education in a small community with a small student body that assures the kind of individualized attention undergrads need to be successful, and the stats don’t lie: LCSC had a student body of fewer than 4,000 students and an outstanding student to faculty ratio – just 14 students for every professor,” Paralegal.edu said in its evaluation. “The Bachelor of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies reflects the college’s commitment to excellence and builds off the AAS Paralegal Program, so admission into this program requires either the completion of this associate degree program or prior work experience.”

In its ranking system, Paralegal.edu considered things like opportunities for experiential learning through an internship or practicum, students services that includes a robust career counseling and job placement program that connects students with local firms and other employers, the program’s reputation for turning out graduates with the skills employers look for, how well it is connected to the local legal community to create networking and professional opportunities for students, whether the program is well-aligned with the demands of the local job market, whether the program lends itself to further education, and how well the program accommodates working students with online and hybrid options or classes scheduled during evenings and weekends.

The Paralegal.edu website was created to serve as a resource for aspiring and existing paralegals and to help students identify high quality programs available.
