Social Work Program is honored for its online affordability

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College has been ranked second nationally by EduRef.net in its 2020 rankings for the Most Affordable Online Social Work Programs, the online education research organization has announced.

EduRef.net is a nationally recognized provider of college planning resources. EduRef.net reviews publicly available data to produce independent ranking assessments of various educational programs, in addition to student guides and resources

Higher education schools considered for this ranking were collected from official accrediting agency websites, are regionally or nationally accredited, and offer at least one online social work degree. Pulling data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), colleges were evaluated based on their affordability.

LC State was noted for its low cost, acceptance rate, low student-to-teacher ratio, and high placement rates of graduates. LC State offers a Bachelor’s of Social Work degree that includes internships, research projects and student activities, both in a traditional in-class setting and a non-tradition online format. The program fosters students to understand the differences among people and to respect these differences, which helps enrich the quality of life for society.

LC State has the lowest tuition among Idaho’s four-year public institutions and has an enrollment of around 3,700 students.

Graduates are expected to practice from a set of ethical principles inherent in the social work profession, including the recognition that professional development is a lifelong learning process. Program graduates often find jobs working with children, families and the underserved populations at risk, including handicapped, mentality disabled, economically deprived, delinquent, elderly, or health impaired.
