LC State RN to BSN online nursing program receives national rankings

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College has been ranked in the top 11 nationally in the categories of best overall and most affordable RN to BSN online nursing programs, according to EduMed.org in its 2021 rankings.

LC State was ranked ninth overall in most affordable RN to BSN online program and 11th in best RN to BSN online program. LC State was one of just two schools in the entire West region to earn such distinction.

“LC State’s RN to BSN track provides the opportunity and flexibility for the working nurse to expand knowledge and skills beyond the clinical aspects of nursing. We are very pleased to receive this recognition as we continue to seek ways to help meet the needs of nursing professionals and our health care partners,” said Krista Harwick, Nursing & Health Sciences division chair.

LC State’s RN to BSN track is for nurses who already have their registered nurse (RN) license or are currently in an associate degree RN program and want to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. The online program, which consists of 22 credits and a pre-requisite statistics course, can be completed in as few as nine months for an average cost of around $9,000.

For the rankings, EduMed.org researched more than 7,700 accredited schools using data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and from the schools themselves. EduMed.org’s data science team then applied a proprietary algorithm to rank all qualifying schools for each health care discipline. Schools with the best combinations of online learning opportunity, affordability, and student support earned top honors. To be eligible, a school must hold active regional accreditation and have at least one partially online program in the ranking subject. Just eight percent of postsecondary institutions across the country earned a ranking position.

EduMed.org connects students with expert-driven information about education, training, and financial aid opportunities in health care and medical support. EduMded.org began its rankings in 2018 to help students find the best and most affordable online degree programs in more than 30 medical and health fields.

LC State’s RN to BSN online nursing program was also ranked No. 1 in Idaho by RNtoMSN.org in June.
