LC State sets performances of ‘Emme and the Taking of the Woods’

LEWISTON, Idaho – “Emme and the Taking of the Woods,” a play written by Lewis-Clark State College Humanities Division instructor Jef Petersen, will be performed on Oct. 27-29 and Nov. 3-5 at the college’s Silverthorne Theatre.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the play begins at 7:30 p.m. each night of the performance. The cost is $10 for general admission, $5 for non-LC State students and veterans, and is free for LC State students and alumni.

The story follows Emme, a precocious and intelligent nine-year-old, who answers a mysterious call for help emanating from the woods. Emme soon faces a destructive force that is obliterating entire worlds across the multiverse. The epic adventure includes an assortment of companions to aid in the fight.

The performances are being directed by Petersen, Tan Prace Collier, and Nancy Lee-Painter. The performers are LC State students in theatre classes.
