LC State to hold Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Oct. 19

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College will hold a Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the college’s library parking lot, near the intersection of 7th Avenue and 5th Street in Lewiston.

The event, which is free and open to the public, allows for the safe disposal of unused or expired medications. Those turning in medications are asked to leave medication in the original container. On the container, leave information about the drug, but black out any personal information, including name.

Medications that will be accepted include prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, pet medications, vitamins, and supplements.

Syringes, needles, liquids and inhalers will not be accepted. Also no refunds will be given.

The event is sponsored by the community coalition Resources Empowering Action for Community Health (REACH), the Lewiston Police Department, and LC State. LC State nursing students will help during the event.
