LC State’s TRR staff to hold free workshop for writers

LEWISTON, Idaho – The staff of the Lewis-Clark State College literary journal Talking River Review (TRR) will hold its fourth biannual writers’ workshop on Nov. 3 at 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the upstairs lounge of the LC State Student Union Building/Center For Student Leadership.

The workshop, which is for aspiring and emerging writers, is free and open to the public.

The informative writing workshop will discuss what publications are looking for, where to submit and more. It will cover brainstorming ideas, rough drafts, and submitting the work for publication. Though it’s not required, participants are invited to bring brief excerpts of their poetry and prose to the workshop.

A prize will be awarded every 30 minutes during the workshop.

For more than 25 years, the student-run literary journal TRR has published the creative works of fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction writers. It is published biannually by the Associated Students of LC State. For more information on the journal, visit the TRR website.

Prize sponsors for the night include Blue Lantern Coffee, Amsterdam Coffee Club, Lancer Lanes and the LC State Humanities Division.
