Drama Club to present preview of play ‘Third Person’

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College’s drama club will present a preview performance for a new play titled “Third Person.” The performance will take place Saturday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Silverthorne Theatre. The play is free and open to the public and appropriate for ages 10 and up.

“Third Person” follows three characters: Octavio, a passionate high school student, his mother Diane, an English teacher and poet, and Robert, a wealthy CEO of a defense conglomerate. Actors for the preview include LC State student Marcus De Vera, LC State administrative assistant for humanities Leilani Farrell, and LC State theatre instructor Lane Richins.

According to information provided by Richins, “There is a missile-like precision, where humor, poetry, passion, intelligence are used to exact effect.”

“Third Person” was written by world-renowned playwright Catherine Filloux and the preview is directed by Richins. Richins says the play purposefully coincides with National Self-Care Awareness Month.

This preview performance is one of two in the country, and the play will have its world premiere at CultureHub in New York City on Sept. 20.
