Ninth annual Moore Honorary Lecture to take place Oct. 27

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College will host its ninth annual Moore Honorary Lecture on Monday, Oct. 27, at noon via teams and in person.    

The guest speaker this year is Nicole Foy and the topic will be “Objectivity, identity and what the past means for journalism’s future.”  

Foy is the co-founder of Voces Internship of Idaho, a nonprofit that places young Idahoans in paid internships in Idaho newsrooms. She’s also an investigative reporter with a decade’s experience covering immigration, Latino communities, and government accountability across the West. Her work appears at ProPublica, CalMatters, the Austin American-Statesman, the Idaho Statesman, the Idaho Press and the Orange County Register.

The Moore Honorary Lecture honors former LC State political science professor Richard Moore and his contributions to the college. Moore worked at LC State for 27 years, 1978-2005. He mentored several students and chaired the Faculty Senate and Faculty Association twice, and the Social Sciences Division for eight years, and was interim chair for the Nursing & Health Sciences Division. He also served as acting dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.
