LC State president, director and alumni named in Idaho 500

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College President Cynthia Pemberton, Jennie Jones Hall, director of College Advancement and executive director of the LC State Foundation, and multiple LC State alumni were listed in this year’s Idaho 500, Idaho Business Review’s annual statewide recognition program.

According to Idaho Business Review, the list celebrates and recognizes the “most influential and accomplished professionals throughout the Gem State.” It selects individuals who are “driving innovation, creating jobs, building communities, and making Idaho a better place to live and work.”

Pemberton was listed in the education category and was recognized for her leadership of LC State, particularly in its role as north Idaho’s healthcare education leader. She has served as president at LC State since 2018, becoming the third female president in the history of Idaho’s four-year public institutions. Originally from Medford, Ore., Pemberton earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from Willamette University, and a master’s in interdisciplinary studies: physical education, psychology, and nutrition at Southern Oregon University. She received her Ed.D. in education leadership at Portland State University.

Jones Hall was named in the agriculture category and was praised for her fundraising accomplishments at both LC State and the University of Idaho, and for her recent participation in Leadership Idaho Agriculture Class 45. She joined LC State in 2021 after 22 years at the University of Idaho, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

LC State alumni named on the list include Amaya Aguirre-Landa, Clay Haylett, and Janice Jordan. Aguirre-Landa, who earned a business management degree from LC State, is executive director of the Idaho Grain Producers Association and was named in the agriculture category. Haylett, a business administration graduate, is the commercial banking team lead at First Federal Bank in Nampa, and was named in the finance category. Jordan earned a nursing degree at LC State and was named in the healthcare category in her role as CEO of Marimn Health, based in Plummer.
