About
Students in LC State’s creative writing BFA work across multiple genres including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, screenwriting, and playwriting to build the portfolios that can be used to apply for jobs, graduate programs, or literary agents.
Small, workshop-based classes provide a supportive environment and constructive criticism. Each year, visiting writers meet with students to provide networking opportunities. Outside the classroom, students gain real-world experience through internships and editing opportunities with "Talking River Review," LC State’s literary magazine.
Creative writing is available as a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or as a minor.
