Plumbing Apprenticeship
Improve your skills through this apprenticeship designed for those actively employed in the trade.
About
Through this program, participants will gain the education needed to advance their plumbing careers. Students will learn plumbing theory and gain hands-on training while working in the field.
An apprenticeship program is required for individuals seeking a plumbing journeyman card.
Training includes 64 credits in plumbing theory and apprenticeship work.
Students can also pursue an associate degree while doing their apprenticeship. The associate degree requires students to take 16-18 general education courses in addition to the 64 theory and apprenticeship credits:
- Written and oral communication (6 credits)
- Math for technology (4 credits)
- Social and behavioral ways of knowing (3 credits)
- General education core classes (3-5 credits)
The plumbing apprenticeship training is offered as non-credit through Workforce Training. Students can request to transfer the training to credit once coursework is completed; the transfer costs $10 per credit.
