The Spanish minor provides an exciting blend of language, literature, and culture. Though most students complete the required 25 credits through the regular succession of Spanish courses, some credits may be obtained by Advanced Placement and/or course challenge exams. At all levels of Spanish instruction, emphasis is placed on building communication skills and developing greater cultural awareness and appreciation. The Spanish courses are designed to prepare you, regardless of your major field of study, to enter a competitive workforce in which bilingual communication skills are becoming increasingly crucial. You are encouraged to seek study abroad opportunities, for which scholarships are available.
