Frequently Asked Questions

RISE is a one-week, hands-on, pre-college program for high school students interested in exploring careers in healthcare and allied health fields. Students gain real-world insight into what a future in medicine can look like.

$150 includes housing, all meals, course materials, and social activities. Limited scholarships are available. 

Students will go beyond the classroom to explore medical challenges, learn core scientific concepts, and build critical thinking skills. The experience includes interactive activities and learning alongside and networking with clinicians, scientists, and educators. Additionally, you will be able to connect and build bonds with other students.

Participants will stay on Lewis-Clark State College's beautiful campus in student housing. 

No, transportation expenses to and from the Academy will be the responsibility of the student and their families.

Absolutely! You’ll hear from local physicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals who will share their experiences and give you an inside look at working in related healthcare fields.

Yes! RISE: Healthcare Careers Academy can provide transportation to and from one of the following Regional airports: 

  • Lewiston-Nez Perce Regional Airport (LWS)
  • Moscow-Pullman Regional Airport (PUW)

If you’re a current high school student who’s curious about healthcare, enjoy STEM, and want to learn by doing, this program is for you! Spots are limited to just 30 students for the 2026 cohort.
