Phi Alpha Honor Society (Coeur d'Alene)

Phi Alpha is a national honor society dedicated to excellence in social work education, humanitarian service, professional development and research.

The purpose of Phi Alpha is to:

  • Build connections among social work students and professionals.
  • Promote high standards of scholarship and achievement.
  • Encourage service and professional growth.
  • Foster collaboration between the college and the community.

Membership is open to social work students who have completed at least 12 credits of social work coursework and earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Student Organization of Social Workers (Lewiston and Coeur d’Alene campuses)

The purpose of the Student Organization of Social Workers (SOSW) is to:

  • Provide opportunities for service-learning through community service and charitable activities.
  • Connect students with organizations and needs in the local community.
  • Support students’ professional and personal development.
  • Build connections among students interested in social work and community service.

Membership is open to social work students and all other interested LC State students.
