Advising is a critical piece of a student's success in college.
As a faculty/staff advisor, you are responsible for:
- Helping students clarify their educational values and goals
- Helping connect students to campus resources
- Providing accurate information about educational options, program requirements, and policies
- Helping students create a plan for degree completion
- Teaching students to monitor their own progress
- Maintaining confidentiality
- Fostering decision-making and self-reliance
