Convergence: Six Perspectives in Paint
The Center for Arts & History is pleased to present Convergence: Six Perspectives in Paint, a spring exhibition featuring six artists who share a love of paint but explore it through distinctly individual series.
Buti & Móczár bring a rare collaborative approach, blending their individual visions to celebrate the beauty of wildlife and the natural world, emphasizing both artistry and conservation. Melissa Riebe layers acrylics with paste and gel to create textured, vibrant works that pulse with energy and emotion. Colt Island Works draws inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and Southeast Alaska, creating paintings that reflect both adventure and connection to nature. Linnea Tobias transforms everyday observations into layered, abstract interpretations of nature, combining texture, collage, and monotype techniques to capture light, color, and pattern. Maria La Fleur channels Expressionist and Impressionist influences to craft simple, emotive scenes rooted in both rural and urban Pacific Northwest life. Finally, Guten Artistry offers whimsical, dreamlike visions of oceanic depths and celestial skies, inviting viewers into contemplative, imaginative worlds.Together, these six artists present a dynamic conversation of color, technique, and perspective. Visitors will experience a rich variety of approaches to painting, each series distinct yet united by the medium, demonstrating the endless possibilities of creative expression.
