LEWISTON, Idaho – A workshop on retirement savings plans for small businesses highlights the four March classes being offered by the North Central Idaho Small Business Development Center at Lewis-Clark State College.
The other workshops include website content, a business roundtable discussion, and business resources and regulations.
Three of the workshops will be held at the SBDC offices, located at 406 Main St. in Lewiston. Pre-registration is required for each workshop. The retirement saving workshop will be held on March 6 at 5:30-8 p.m. The instructor is financial advisor Eric Justis and has a $20 fee. The workshop will cover the qualified retirement plans specifically designed for small and medium size businesses, as well as the benefits to both employees and employers. The discussion will include eligibility, funding methods, investment options, tax treatment, and administrative costs.
Website content and search engine optimization are the topics for the March 13 workshop, which will be held at 5:30-8 p.m. The instructor is Barbara Leachman and the fee is $20. The workshop will show how to improve a website by choosing the right content for search engines. It will also show how to build trust with customers, how to use social media, and affordable ways to market a business.
A business roundtable will take place on March 16 at 1:30-4 p.m. in Grangeville in the basement of the Umpqua Bank building, located at 147 Main St. The roundtable is for experienced and new business owners and entrepreneurs. The afternoon is an opportunity to share knowledge and ask questions. Topics will include key resources, feasibility and communicating. The final workshop in March is on resources and regulations for businesses. It will be held March 20 at 5:30-7:30 p.m. with a $20 fee. Leachman will be the instructor and will cover key resources, communicating value, key things to know, and feasibility.
