About Royal

Royal Toy is originally from Boulder, Colorado. He is working as the interim chair for TEAM during the 2024 - 2025 academic year and is focused on the development of opportunities and providing access for all people who are interested in becoming teachers.

Dr. Toy holds an Ed.D. in Special Education (teaching the Gifted & Talented) with a minor in Statistics & Research Methodology. He is also passionate about Music & Art with a degree in Music Education, drawing, and Graphic Design & Illustration. 

He has also served as director of various summer programs for students (K-12) and continues to be active in national and international organizations through publication, presentation, and work on committees and in leadership.

During his free time he may be found crafting using various media such as woods, metals, resins and painting.
