CPT, or Curricular Practical Training, gives international students authorization to gain relevant employment experience and to work in paid internships positions. Student participating in off-campus practicum Students must work with their academic advisors and DSO to ensure that their CPT position meets all curricular training requirements.

Students must have a written job or internship offer before they are able to obtain CPT authorization.

Students must be enrolled in an approved internship credit course at LC State before receiving CPT authorization.

Complete the CPT Request Application packet.  This requires advisor signature and confirmation of enrollment in an internship credit course. Submit this packet to the International Programs Office.

If applicants meet all requirements, they will be approved for CPT for (up to) a period of one semester at a time.  You will receive a new I-20 from the International Programs Office with CPT authorization.
