LC State Credentials
LC State's credentials are digital credentials, recognized by the State of Idaho, that showcase the skills students gain in particular areas of focus. Track your progress toward earning the credentials in Do More.
Leadership & Career Readiness Credentials
LC State currently offers credentials in the areas of Leadership and Career Readiness. Both credentials are earned through involvement in leadership and career development opportunities, events, and campus/community service.
The hands-on experiences you gain while earning the Leadership and Career Readiness Credentials help you connect learning to life and college to career.
Leadership Credential
This credential was developed to echo the mission of LC State. To prepare students to become successful leaders, engaged citizens, and lifelong learners as they transition from student life to professional life.
To earn the Leadership Credential you must demonstrate the characteristics of a skilled and trustworthy leader. The Leadership Credential is designed to help you add value to your experiential learning opportunities by allowing you to gain additional skills in four specific areas of leadership:
- Leading Self
- Leading Others
- Managing Processes
- Leading for Legacy
Complete Three Tiers to Earn the Leadership Credential
Attend an event tagged with LC Leadership Core 5 times
Attend an event tagged with Explore Leadership 10 times
Complete 15 hours of community/campus service and the volunteer hours reflection
Complete the Tier 1 Credential Reflection
Earn Tier 1: Exploring Leadership
Attend an event tagged with Career Readiness 2 times
Attend an event tagged Leadership Mini Series 1 time
Hold a Campus Leadership Role for one semester (RA/RD, Student Organization/Club Officer, ASLCSC, WEB, Peer Mentor)
Complete 30 hours of community/campus service and the volunteer hours reflection
Complete the Tier 2 Credential Reflection
Earn Tier 2: Leadership Expansion
Attend an event tagged with Career Readiness 4 times
Attend an event tagged Leadership Mini Series 2 times
Hold a Campus Leadership Role for one year (RA/RD, Student Organization/Club Officer, ASLCSC, WEB, Peer Mentor)
Complete 45 hours of community/campus service and the volunteer hours reflection
Complete the Tier 3 Credential Reflection
Career Readiness Credential
This credential will help you communicate your experiences (within and outside of the classroom) and make informed decisions as you navigate toward your career goals.
The Career Readiness Credential is designed to help you confidently present your skill set to meet the needs of employers in your field of study.
