Quality Matters (QM) is a faculty-centered, peer review process that is designed to improve the quality of online courses and online components. QM has received national recognition for its peer-based approach to quality assurance and continuous improvement in online education.

Originating from a Fund for the Improvement of Post secondary Education grant project, QM is now a self-supporting organization offering institutional subscriptions and a range of fee-based services including QM-managed course reviews and an array of professional development opportunities.

LC State holds a QM subscription, and both Instructional Designers are certified in applying the QM rubric for course reviews. QM reviews conducted at LC State are "informal," meaning they are conducted by the instructional designers and the course builder's division chair. At this time, QM-reviewed courses at LC State are not eligible to be advertised as "QM Certified," based on the college's level of subscription to QM.
