| 1947 | Action by the Idaho Legislature changing the name to Northern Idaho College of Education. |
| 1951 | Became non-operational due to the failure of the Idaho Legislature to appropriate funds for the1951-53 Biennium. |
| 1955 | Re-established by an act of the Idaho Legislature as Lewis-Clark Normal School. The College was designed to operate as a two-year division of the University of Idaho for teacher training and education. |
| 1963 | Action by the Idaho Legislature authorized independent status as a four-year college. |
| 1965 | The Associate Degree Nursing Program and the Area Vocational School were added. |
| 1967 | Graduation of the first Baccalaureate degrees since being re-established as a four-year institution. |

| 2021 | Lewis-Clark State College baccalaureate degree program in nursing has been granted continued accreditation for another 10 years by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CNNE). |
