Established by an act of the Idaho Legislature as Lewiston State Normal School.
1942Accredited by the American Association of Teacher Colleges.
1943Authorized by the Idaho State Board of Education to grant the B.A. degree in Elementary and Secondary Education. Prior to this date, the College had offered a two-year program to prepare teachers for grades one through nine.
1947Action by the Idaho Legislature changing the name to Northern Idaho College of Education.
1951Became non-operational due to the failure of the Idaho Legislature to appropriate funds for the1951-53 Biennium.
1955Re-established by an act of the Idaho Legislature as Lewis-Clark Normal School. The College was designed to operate as a two-year division of the University of Idaho for teacher training and education.
1963Action by the Idaho Legislature authorized independent status as a four-year college.
1965The Associate Degree Nursing Program and the Area Vocational School were added.
1967Graduation of the first Baccalaureate degrees since being re-established as a four-year institution.
1970Accreditation of the Associate Degree Nursing Program by the National League for Nursing.
1971Action by the Idaho Legislature changing the name to Lewis-Clark State College.

Lewis-Clark State College baccalaureate degree program in nursing has been granted continued accreditation for another 10 years by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CNNE).
