Out-of-State Tuition and Transfer Scholarships and Waivers

  • Out-of-state tuition scholarships/waivers are applied to out-of-state tuition and fees and are not intended to cover in-state tuition and fees.
  • In case of budgetary limitations, applicants will be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis by GPA.
  • For transfer students, preference will be given to students from partnering institutions.
  • If you are receiving an athletic waiver, you may not be eligible for out-of-state scholarship/waiver funding.
  • A student who earns dual or concurrent credits prior to high school graduation and attends the first semester after high school graduation will be considered a Freshman for scholarship purposes and therefore ineligible to apply/receive transfer scholarships.

Out-of-State Tuition Scholarships and Waivers

  • Priority Deadline: March 1.
  • Students are automatically considered for an out-of-state scholarship/waiver by meeting the March 1 Priority Deadline.
  • Students not meeting the March 1 Priority Deadline should complete an Out-of-State Tuition Scholarship Application to be considered.
  • Note: Students are eligible for only one scholarship/waiver offer (Presidential, WUE or Asotin County).

Established to assist out-of-state non-traditional students who have been out of high school for at least five years as the time of their initial enrollment at LC State. This scholarship provides funds for non-traditional students in all majors. Minimum GPA of 3.0 and full-time enrollment (12 or more credits per semester) is required. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Application deadline is March 1.

2024-2025 Non-Traditional Scholarship Application

Established by the Lewis-Clark State College Foundation to assist Idaho resident transfer students who wish to complete their degree at LC State. This scholarship provides funds for students pursuing a Bachelor's Degree. Student must be a new direct transfer to LC State with at least 30 transfer credits. Minimum GPA of 3.0 and full-time enrollment (12 or more credits per semester) is required. Preference will be given to students transferring from North Idaho College, Community Colleges of Spokane, Blue Mountain Community College, College of Southern Idaho, Walla Walla Community College, Treasure Valley Community College, College of Western Idaho and College of Eastern Idaho.

Students who are concurrently enrolled at LC State are not eligible. Students who currently have an approved Consortium Agreement with LC State are not eligible. Students are not eligible if they are receiving other LC State merit based scholarships. This scholarship may be renewable for a second year based on maintaining a 3.0 GPA and completion of 12 credits per semester.

Application deadline for fall semester is June 15. Application deadline for spring semester is December 15.

Fall 2024 Transfer Student Scholarship Application

Established to assist students who wish to complete their Bachelor's Degree at LC State. Must be a new direct transfer student to LC State with at least 30 credits. Non-resident applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and full-time enrollment (12 or more credits per semester).  Resident applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and half-time enrollment (6 or more credits per semester). Preference will be given to students transferring from North Idaho College, Community Colleges of Spokane, Blue Mountain Community College, College of Southern Idaho, Walla Walla Community College, Treasure Valley Community College, College of Western Idaho and College of Eastern Idaho.

Fall 2024 Transfer Student Scholarship Application

Established to assist students majoring in physical, life or movement sciences and wish to complete their Bachelor's degree at LC State. All applicants must have a completed Associate Degree, a minimum GPA of 3.0, be enrolled full-time (12 or more credits per semester). In addition:

Idaho resident applicants must be a new, direct transfer student to LC State from an Idaho Community College.  Idaho resident applicants must also submit a recommendation letter from a qualified Physical, Life and Movement Sciences faculty member with application.

Non-resident applicants must be a new, direct transfer to LC State, with preference given to applicants from Alaska, Hawaii, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada and Wyoming.  Non-resident applicants must be majoring in physical, life or movement sciences.

Fall 2024 INBRE Transfer Student Scholarship Application

Established for new out-of-state students. This scholarship provides funds for students in all majors. Minimum 3.0 GPA or 20 ACT score (with 2.5 GPA) or 1020 SAT critical reading and math combined score (with 2.5 GPA) and full-time enrollment (12 or more credits per semester) is required. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years of consecutive attendance towards a Bachelor's Degree or up to two years of consecutive attendance towards an Associate's Degree. Students must maintain a 3.0 semester GPA and complete at least 12 credits each semester. The scholarship amount varies. Out-of-state tuition scholarships/waivers are applied to out-of-state tuition and fees and are not intended to cover in-state tuition and fees. Students must be at least tentatively admitted with 7th semester transcript received by the March 1 Priority Deadline for automatic consideration for the fall semester. Submission of a Scholarship/Waiver Request Form is required for consideration for students who do not meet the March 1 Priority Deadline.

Established for new Asotin County (WA) students. This scholarship provides funds for students in all majors. Minimum GPA of 3.0 or 20 ACT score (with 2.5 GPA) or 1020 SAT critical reading and math combined score (with 2.5 GPA) and full-time enrollment (12 or more credits per semester) is required. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years of consecutive attendance towards a Bachelor's degree and up to two years of consecutive attendance towards an Associate's degree. Students must maintain a 3.0 semester GPA, complete at least 12 credits per semester and register for classes during advanced registration each semester. Out-of-state tuition scholarships/waivers are applied to out-of-state tuition and fees and are not intended to cover in-state tuition and fees. Students must be at least tentatively admitted with 7th semester transcript received by the March 1 Priority Deadline for automatic consideration for the fall semester. Submission of a Scholarship/Waiver Request Form is required for consideration for students who do not meet the March 1 Priority Deadline.

Established for recipients of the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Waiver or Presidential Out-of-State Tuition Scholarships. This scholarship provides additional funds for new out-of-state students. Minimum GPA is 3.5 or a 28 ACT score (with 2.5 GPA) or 1310 SAT critical reading and math combined score (with 2.5 GPA) and full-time enrollment (12 or more credits per semester) is required. Renewable for up to four years of consecutive attendance towards a Bachelor's degree and up to two years of consecutive attendance towards an Associate's degree. Students must maintain a 3.0 semester GPA, complete at least 12 credits per semester and register for classes during advanced registration each semester. Students must be at least tentatively admitted with 7th semester transcript received by the March 1 Priority Deadline for fall semester and December 15 for spring semester.

Established for students who are residents from the following states or islands: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands, Hawaii, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming. This waiver allows a select number of students to enroll in two- and four-year degree programs for a reduced amount. The rate is established each year and is 150% of Idaho tuition. Minimum GPA of 3.0 or a 20 ACT score (with 2.5 GPA) or a 1020 SAT critical reading and math combined score (with 2.5 GPA) and full-time enrollment (12 or more credits per semester) is required. This scholarship may be renewed for up to four years of consecutive attendance towards a Bachelor's degree and up to two years of consecutive attendance towards an Associate's degree. Students must maintain a 3.0 semester GPA, complete at least 12 credits per semester and register for classes during advanced registration. Students must be at least tentatively admitted with 7th semester transcript received by the March 1 Priority Deadline for automatic consideration for the fall semester. Submission of a Scholarship/Waiver Request Form is required for consideration for students who do not meet the March 1 Priority Deadline.

Scholarship/Waiver Request Form

Established for new out-of-state transfer students with an associate degree from one of our partner community colleges*. This scholarship provides funds for new bachelor degree-seeking out-of-state students. Students must enroll at LC State within one year of receiving their associate degree. Minimum GPA of 3.0 and full-time enrollment (12 or more credits per semester) is required. Scholarship is equal to out-of-state tuition. Renewable if students maintain a 3.0 GPA, complete at least 12 credits per semester and register for classes during advanced registration. Must have an official transcript on file with associate degree posted prior to the beginning of the semester initially offered.
