The Certificate prepares you with technical and tactical knowledge, leadership skills, and decision-making tools to support all levels of sport. In this program, you will learn to effectively train athletes physically and mentally while adhering to best practices in competitive ethics. 

Features of the Certificate

  • Designed for coaches at all levels of sport. 
  • Twelve-credits (four classes) which students usually take over two semesters.
  • Fully online delivery.
  • Aligned with National Standards for Sports Coaches.
  • Includes a coaching practicum to align course work with current coaching practice.

 

Program requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university.
  • A GPA over 3.0 for your most recent 60 credits of work. Students with a lower GPA can petition for program entry, see the graduate school handbook.

LC State to offer graduate certificate in Sport Coaching

The college has received approval from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) to offer a 12-credit online graduate program in Sport Coaching.

Alex (Al) Sommerfield and Kevin Baker became the first two LC State students to earn a graduate certificate at the college. Both earned a graduate certificate in Sport Coaching.
